The Average Wedding Photographer Cost?
First off… I will say: It depends…
For a full wedding day of photography or videography, expect to pay on average: $2000 - 4500+.
For a hybrid of both, average $500-1500 additional on top of that.
That may seem like a large number but it isn’t.
It is fairly average, if not on the lower end for a good photographer.
A good photographer is an important, if not one of the most important, aspect of your wedding day. If you highly value remembering good moments, forever… you will want a competent photographer. (You can find out more questions to ask your wedding photographer here).
Now you may think, that is unfair for a person to charge this much for a day. You may think “I can find a photographer on craigslist charging $400” (If you go that route, ask many, many, many questions to make sure they know what they’re doing). But, there are many business costs involved in this decision that you may not consider at the customer. So, a photographer (especially videographer) charging less than this, likely doesn’t care about their business or to build a sustainable business. If you want to hire cheap, it’s better to go for free OR the low end of average.
Now, if you’re getting married at a home wedding or a micro wedding. The costs will vary depending on the length typically. With us, our 2-hour package is much different than our 4-hour package… which is much different than our 8 hours. Same services, but what it covers is pretty significantly different.
